Uist Council of Voluntary Organisations provides support and representation for third sector groups and organisations based between Berneray and Eriskay.
We are run day-to-day by a small but dedicated team of staff overseen by a board of volunteer directors.
UCVO provides a single point of access for support and advice for the third sector in the area and represents the third sector with clear links to Community Planning. UCVO also runs a charity shop, with proceeds going to a community trust fund which provides financial grants to individuals living in Uist.
UCVO is a partner in Third Sector Interface (TSI) Western Isles, which is funded by Scottish Government as part of a Scotland wide network of 32 Third Sector Interfaces to support development of volunteering, social enterprise, building a strong third sector and building the third sector relationship with community planning.
