Street Soccer Scotland is a sport for change charity using football to reduce isolation, create communities and provide opportunity to anyone facing exclusion and isolation. We run 60+ free, inclusive drop-in sessions a week across Scotland. We provide safe spaces and a sense of belonging that is free from judgement and stigma and welcomes everyone warmly.
Our support services are open to anyone over 16 years old and people of all genders. In Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee we run specific Women’s Programme and a Youth Programme for young people 10-16. Street Soccer deliver football-based education programmes in selected prisons across Scotland, providing accessible education even for those with low literacy skills, and building relationships which carry forward after liberation to help reduce reoffending. Our drop-in sessions provide an opportunity for players to engage in inclusive physical activity at any ability. Football forms the basis of support, building relationships and providing opportunities for players to develop skills.
Alongside free football drop-ins we run level 5 SCQF qualifications, personal development, and all kinds of wrap around support. We provide emotional support to players, refer them to specialist organisations and provide practical support. There is no referral process and players can come along as much or as little as they want. 97% of players think Street Soccer is unique, and 82% feel their quality of life has improved.
