Walking Scotland is a company limited by guarantee and a registered Scottish charity. It is a partnership organisation representing 25 national organisations from the public and third sectors. Their vision is for a happier, healthier, greener, more active Scotland and its main areas of activity are walking for health and path network development.
We make it easier for everyone in Scotland to enjoy the benefits of walking and wheeling. There are four ways we do this:
- Delivering programmes. We work alongside communities, schools and workplaces to design and deliver innovative and fun programmes that support people to walk and wheel more.
- Improving paths. We know that good pavements and path networks that are accessible for all are essential. We work alongside communities to improve local paths and create walking environments that everyone can use and enjoy.
- Strengthening networks. We promote community Health Walks across Scotland by supporting and enabling our network of members.
- Promoting benefits. We promote and advocate for the benefits that walking and wheeling bring to individuals, communities and Scotland as a whole, in our communications and policy work.
