Lochlan’s Legacy was established as a Scottish registered charity in October 2020.
Our founder, Lochlan, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was just four years old. Despite the life-changing diagnosis, Lochlan remained determined and positive. He faced the challenges of finger pricks, insulin injections, and more with a smile on his face and a football at his feet.
Lochlan wants to help others living with T1D. In 2018, after a leg injury impacted his mental health, Lochlan organised a charity event called Lochlan’s Stadium Marathon. He walked 28 miles in four days around all the SPFL stadiums to raise funds and awareness. This inspired the creation of Lochlan’s Legacy, and we couldn’t be prouder of Lochlan and his incredible journey.
Our mission is to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes across Scotland, breaking down the barriers and reducing the stigma surrounding it by offering information sessions, workshops, get-together days and so much more.
