Voluntary Health Scotland and the Scottish Community Link Worker Network recently worked with Edel Harris, OBE, to host a discussion event in relation to Adult Disability Payment (ADP) Review. The aim of the event was to enable community link workers to contribute to the Adult Disability Payment Independent Review which Edel is leading. The purpose of the review is to look at how well ADP has worked since its launch in 2022 and make recommendations on improvements.
The Review team was keen to meet with Community Link Workers to gather their feedback on their and their clients’ experiences of applying for ADP. The session started by introducing the purpose of the review before asking CLWs their experiences as practitioners on their general awareness of ADP, making applications and reflecting on their clients’ experiences. The Review’s interim report was published in November 2024 with the final report due in the summer of 2025.
