I am so pleased to be able to announce the launch of these films from The Scottish Community Link Worker Network and Voluntary Health Scotland which showcase the vital contribution that community link workers (CLWs) and social prescribing make to primary care and local communities across Scotland.
Community Link Workers are those essential connectors between general practice, community and patients. One of the great things about these films is that we can hear directly from some of the patients who have benefited from the CLW service. Listening to the impact that the CLW has had on their lives is incredibly moving. It is also interesting to hear from GPs about the contribution that CLWs make to general practice. The CLWs themselves are clearly passionate and committed to the work they are doing and the difference they can make to someone’s life.
We all know that CLWs are key to tackling health inequalities in Scotland – they are not a ‘nice to have’, they are essential. We are delighted that these films provide an opportunity for everyone to learn how vital CLWs are to the health of our nation.
We hope you enjoy watching the films and learning more about the fantastic work that Scotland’s CLWs are doing every day to ensure people stay happier and healthier for longer.
