Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) is delighted to announce a partnership with Turadh, a social enterprise who offer socially conscious holiday accommodation in the stunning Scottish West Highland villages of Glenelg and Shieldaig. The ethos behind the creation of Turadh is that everyone deserves to have an opportunity for rest, recovery and time in nature.
The founders of Turadh, who have three holiday accommodations, Taigh Win, Nead Benera and Feada Coille, are offering heavily discounted rates for those who work for the common good in the sector. With the current economic challenges facing so many individuals and organisations, through this partnership with Turadh, VHS hopes to connect those who work so hard in the voluntary sector with a much-needed getaway in a beautiful, serene place. We are so pleased to offer this opportunity to VHS members.
Voluntary Health Scotland’s, Chief Executive, Tejesh Mistry said;
“I’m constantly humbled by the dedication and passion colleagues across the health sector demonstrate in their work that makes a vital contribution to addressing health inequalities in Scotland. By working in partnership with Turadh, Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) is proud to recognise this by offering valuable opportunities for rest, recovery and time in nature.”
Three beliefs strongly underpin the work of Turadh; everyone needs a rest, everyone needs nature and everyone needs kindness. Turadh (pronounced ‘too-rag’) is a Scottish Gaelic word which describes a dry spell between showers, a break in the clouds when the sun can come through. For the founders of Turadh, this perfectly describes the experience they want to create for guests at their accommodation; a time to pause and see things in a different light.
VHS is looking forward to working with Turadh. You can read more about the fantastic ethos behind the Turadh team at The Guardian and Positive News.
