Health and social care in transition – Public Bodies (Joint Working) Bill

July 1, 2013

Voluntary Health Scotland held an event on 1 July 2013,  attended by 40 representatives of voluntary health organisations, on ‘health and social care in transition’. The  Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Bill was the focus of the event, with presentations on the Bill itself, the wider policy context for integration, and the experience of integration  in Highland.

Participants received a complimentary copy of the report: Health_Systems_in_Transition_Scotland_2012

Presentations:

David Steel (Senior Research Fellow, University of Aberdeen): Health Care in Transition – Presentation

Grant Hughes (Scottish Government): Scottish Government – Bill Presentation

Maxine Johnston (Alzheimer Scotland) and Maimie Thompson (NHS Highland): Highland 3rd Sector Perspective – Presentation

The Health and Sport Committee has issued a call for written evidence to run over the summer recess. See the Parliamentary website for more information . Stage 1 oral evidence will commence in September.

Voluntary Health Scotland has issued an open invitation to voluntary health organisations to participate in our Sounding Board on Monday 22 July 2013, a working meeting to help shape our response to the Committee’s call for evidence. Book your place at Events.
