VHS are planning a response to the Scottish Government Consultation on the New Health and Social Care Standards. To help inform our response we held an information and discussion session in December. The keynote speaker was Dr Fiona Wardell from Healthcare Improvement Scotland who provided information about the standards as well as the consultation itself, this was followed by a question and answer session and then a round table discussion of some key issues surrounding the standards.
The event was attended by a range of people from large national organisations, social care providers, community organisations, representatives from Integrated Joint Boards as well as a local councillor which made for a very insightful discussion.
There was so much interest surrounding the standards and the event itself was oversubscribed that we intend to hold a follow up event once the standards are finally published.
