Marie Curie is a UK charity providing care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families. In 2014/15 across the UK we provided care and support for 40,712 people.
In Scotland, we provide care and support for more than 7,400 people living with a terminal illness in Scotland each year.
In 2014/15, the Marie Curie Hospices in Edinburgh and Glasgow provided care to over 1,000 in-patients and our clinical nurse specialists carried out over 2,200 visits to patients in Edinburgh, over 3,900 visits in Glasgow and over 1,000 visits in West Lothian. We also saw almost 300 new day services patients and 190 outpatients in the Marie Curie Hospices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and through the West Lothian Palliative Care Service. In 2014/15, our community nursing teams across Scotland also made over 36,000 visits to people in 31 out of 32 local authorities across Scotland.
