Integration of Adult Health and Social Care

May 31, 2013

The Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Bill was introduced to Scottish Parliament on 28 May 2013.  Voluntary Health Scotland has produced the following summary of the Bill for members – Public Bodies Bill Summary paper 31 May 2013 and are holding an event for members around the Bill – click here for more information.

The full Bill and associated articles are available from the Scottish Parliament’s website at the following address: http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/parliamentarybusiness/Bills/63845.aspx

The publication of this Bill follows a period of consultation on proposals to deliver better outcomes for people through integrated health and social care.  Background to the consultation can be viewed here – Health and Social Care Integration Background v2

Voluntary Health Scotland held two consultation events with its members and considered other voluntary organisations’ responses before submitting its own response in September 2012.  Read the Voluntary Health Scotland response to the Scottish Government 2012 proposals for better integration of adult health and social care, and a selection of other voluntary sector responses:

  • Voluntary Health Scotland [PDF, 188kb]
  • Scottish Association for Mental Health [PDF, 311kb]
  • Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council [PDF, 82kb]
  • Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations [PDF, 528kb]
