During February 2020 we are keen to hear from third sector organisations that actively recruit and engage volunteers in NHS settings, e.g. hospitals. If you are involved in this type of work please take a few minutes to complete our online survey which aims to understand awareness of the guidance and, where relevant, its impact on volunteering in NHS settings.
Rocket Science is helping us conduct the evaluation, with additional support from our expert reference group. Rocket Science also plans to conduct telephone interviews with the strategic leads for volunteering in each NHS board, so the current survey is for third sector organisations only (e.g. charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprises).
You may not have heard of the Clear Pathway guidance but we still want to hear from you if you are a third sector organisation engaging volunteers in a NHS setting.
Complete the survey here and please share across your networks: https://www.research.net/r/PKL6RP5
Background
The Clear Pathway guidance provides a framework for NHS Boards on best practice working with third sector partners in order to engage volunteers in NHS settings. The guidance was co-produced by VHS working with NHS boards, third sector organisations and the Scottish Government. In April 2018 the Scottish Government issued the guidance to every NHS board in Scotland. Now VHS and its partners want to find out how boards and their third sector organisations are using the guidance and what impact it has had. Is third sector volunteering in NHS settings safer, more effective and more patient centred as a result? Has partnership working between NHS boards and third sector been strengthened?
