Following a kitchen table discussion with our members on 30 July, Voluntary Health Scotland has submitted a response to the Social Justice and Social Security Committee’s Third Sector Funding Principles consultation.
The response summarises the views and experiences of both VHS as an individual organisation, as well as the views and experiences of our member organisations.
It highlights the current challenges faced by VHS and our member organisations, before articulating the benefits that would come from:
- Longer-term funding;
- Greater flexibility;
- Inflation-based uplifts;
- A commitment to resource the real living wage;
- And more efficient application, reporting and payment processes.
Going beyond this consultation, we will use the views and experiences that members have shared with us to continue to campaign for the third sector to receive the fair funding that it deserves.
