A VHS poster submitted to this year’s NHSScotland Event has come first in its category (Improving the Health of the Population). The ‘Living in the Gap’ poster provides the key findings of our recent report and illustrates the impact of the voluntary health sector with a number of case study vignettes.
Chief Officer of VHS, Claire Stevens, said, ‘We are thrilled to have won the Improving Population Health poster award and thank NHSScotland for the opportunity to exhibit our work. This represents a real achievement for VHS and, crucially, recognition by the NHSScotland judges of our key role in addressing health inequalities in Scotland. Among the many congratulations we received on twitter, the comment from the Chief Executive of the Carnegie Foundation in Scotland, Martyn Evans is particularly welcome, describing Living in the Gap as ‘a benchmark for 3rd sector reports’.’
‘It is important also to acknowledge the role of
NHS Health Scotland in both supporting and promoting our work on health inequalities, including helping to fund the Living in the Gap report.’
