VHS response to the Health and Sport Committee Inquiry into Social Care

VHS have submitted our response to the Health and Sport Committee Inquiry into Social Care. Our response has been informed by a roundtable held with member organisations and a presentation from the Assistant Clerk to Health and Sport Committee who is leading on the Inquiry, Susan Brown.

We have focussed our response on looking at how to support better engagement with people on the development of social care services and the need for cross portfolio and multi disciplinary actions to improve the social care model. We also discuss the lack of data and information to support decision making at a local and national level as well as shift the focus of social care towards better outcomes for people.
