As part of Voluntary Health Scotland’s work on the Scottish Community Link Worker Network, Roisin Hurst, Project Manager for the Network, produces a mid-year report for the Scottish Government’s Primary Care Directorate (which funds the project). The report which covers the period from April to September 2023, focuses on the Network’s main activities during this period. The report is both a useful re-cap and reflection of what we have got up to as a network and community of practice over the last 6 months!
Our highlights from the last 6 months include our first ever Scottish Community Link Worker Network conference which saw 140 community link workers from across Scotland come together in person in Glasgow. We also ran our first event specifically for CLW programme leads and continued our successful knowledge exchange events which facilitate CLWs and organisations to come together for discussion and shared learning. Many CLWs and programme leads have also contributed to Findlay Smith’s research into the range and scope of community link worker programmes across Scotland. Findlay’s report, entitled ‘Essential Connections’ is due to be published in late November 2023.
We will be submitting a full year report of all the Network’s activity to the Primary Care Directorate in April next year. In the meantime, a big thank you to all the CLWs from across the Network who have contributed so enthusiastically to a great 6 months!
