NHS Shetland has published an evaluation report of the first year pilot of its community link worker programme. The Evaluation Report highlights the positive impact that Ingrid Sandison, the community link worker based in Shetland, has had in the community since she started in post. The report covers the period from March 2023 – February 2024 when she was based across two health centres in Shetland and it captures feedback from patients, health staff, community groups and the community link worker herself. There has been strong feeling that having the CLW based within primary care has had a big impact on the success of the pilot and there is a desire to see the service expand across Shetland.
Congratulations on everyone involved in the CLW programme in Shetland and we look forward to seeing how it develops over the coming years.
