September 2023
In February we opened our members survey for 2023 to gain a better understanding of our members’ priorities and what they think about our work.
We are so grateful for the responses we received, they are already helping to shape our events programme and policy work. The views expressed were overwhelmingly very positive in terms of our communications, events and engagement.
Mental health, social isolation and loneliness came across as strong areas of interest for our members, along with human rights, racialised health inequalities and wellbeing and sustainability. We are already starting to take all these issues forward in our policy and engagement work, and will continue to offer our members the opportunity to have their voices heard on these topics.
When asked why respondents were a member of VHS, collaboration was of most importance, followed by being supportive and informative.
Our overarching health themes:
- Health inequalities
- Public health
- Health and care systems
- Mental and physical health
The VHS overarching health themes were all important or very important to at least 95% of respondents. They also all came through as areas of focus or big issues for our members throughout the survey, especially health inequalities which continues to be the central issue for our network.
“The work of Voluntary Health Scotland is superb and more important than ever. Greatly appreciate all the fantastic support from Voluntary Health Scotland”
