Early in 2015 Community Food and Health Scotland, CHEX and VHS organised a series of learning exchanges and study visits between public sector workers and those working in the community and voluntary health sector. Reports for these events have now been completed and are available to download, along with videos from the days.
The first exchange took place in Glasgow’s Teacher Building on 3rd March and focused on the shared task of tackling Scotland’s health inequalities. Download report: Learning Exchange – Glasgow
Two study visits then facilitated closer engagement interested civil servants and local organisations.
Study visit 1: Lothian Community Health Initiatives Forum in Edinburgh. LCHIF support the work of community projects across Edinburgh and the Lothians that use a community development approach to tackle health inequalities. Download report: Study visit – Edinburgh
Study visit 2: 3D Drumchapel, COPE Scotland and Drumchapel L.I.F.E, both organisations working around health and inequality in the west of Glasgow. Members of staff from the Scottish Government and NHS Health Scotland attended and heard about the work each organisation is carrying out. Download report: Study visit – Drumchapel
The Learning Exchange programme was made possible by support from the Third Sector Unit of Scottish Government.
