The Scottish Community Link Worker Network hosted the 5th Knowledge Exchange event on the 25th January 2024 online.
We welcomed guest presenters:
Carol Cowan is Engagement Officer at NHS24 which is one of Scotland’s 7 special health boards and is Scotland’s provider of digital health and care services. She will be promoting their care navigation resources and services to raise awareness of their services guide and help people find the right care at the right time.
Natasha Johnston is Engagement Officer for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Pancreatic Cancer UK. She will provide some background about pancreatic cancer (where your pancreas is and what it does, some key statistics about pancreatic cancer and signs and symptoms) and then focus on the support and information offering that Pancreatic Cancer UK can provide to community link workers.
Bella Kerr is Intergenerational Development Officer at Generations Working Together. She will share information about intergenerational prescribing which aims to connect people from different generations and backgrounds to share time and take part in opportunities in their communities. Bringing generations together can be done through social connections within groups, care homes, nurseries, local schools, colleges, and community groups as well as housing HUBS and libraries.
