The Scottish Government has committed to providing the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership with up to £1.2m for 2024-25 to sustain community link worker capacity in Glasgow. This follows concerns raised about cuts to services from April 2024. The funding fills a gap that the partnership had identified and is in addition to the partnership’s expected Primary Care Improvement Fund allocation in 2024-25.
The government has also offered the funding on a recurrent basis from 2024-25 for three years to offer link worker services a degree of stability. You can find more information about the funding settlement on the Scottish Government’s website
Michael Matheson, the Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care said: “I am grateful for the constructive collaboration we have had with Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and am pleased we have been able to reach this solution.”
