Miscarriage can be a deeply frightening and lonely experience, one that all too often, people go through feeling unsupported or unseen. At the Miscarriage Association, we acknowledge the heartbreak of pregnancy loss and strive to make a positive difference for everyone affected by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy and molar pregnancy.
Founded in 1982 by a group of individuals who had experienced miscarriage themselves, we’ve spent over 40 years offering trusted support and reliable information to individuals and families, as well as guidance to health professionals.
Our mission is to:
- Raise awareness of pregnancy loss and its impact and advocate for all those affected
- Provide support and information, and guide health professionals to deliver the best care
- Challenge policy and practice so people facing pregnancy loss are seen, heard and supported.

Beyond support, we also work to improve understanding of pregnancy loss and advocate for better care in all areas of life. Our Pregnancy Loss Pledge encourages employers to commit to supporting staff through the distress of miscarriage, and through our workplace training and consultancy programme we equip employers and teams with the tools to do this.
