We are proud to announce Public Health Scotland (PHS) as our collaboration partner for our upcoming Annual Conference taking place on 28 October 2025 in Glasgow.
This collaboration builds on a strong partnership we’ve been cultivating with PHS over the last year on the development of the Population Health Framework and PHS strategy. PHS has consistently demonstrated leadership in tackling health inequalities through collaborative, community-driven approaches which ties in perfectly with our conference theme “Collaboration for Change”. Their strategic focus on prevention, equity, and partnership and recent initiatives like Collaboration for Health Equity in Scotland (CHES) aligns powerfully with our mission to drive systemic change through inclusive, cross-sector collaboration.
We’re delighted to have Manira Ahmad, PHS Chief Officer, chairing an Intersectionality in Health panel discussion where we will be looking at how cross-sector partnerships, inclusive design, and shared leadership are driving more equitable approaches to health and wellbeing. Manira highlights that, “collaboration is the heartbeat of a public health approach. By working together across sectors, communities, and organisations, we can address the root causes of health inequalities through an intersectional lens, recognising how different experiences and identities shape people’s health and wellbeing. This spirit of partnership sits at the core of Scotland’s Population Health Framework, guiding us to create the conditions for everyone to thrive. At Public Health Scotland, we are proud to support Voluntary Health Scotland in championing collaboration, idea-sharing, and trust-building — essential foundations for creating a fairer and healthier Scotland for all.”
VHS Chief Executive Tejesh Mistry is “delighted to have Public Health Scotland collaborate with us for this year’s Annual Conference. Throughout the year our colleagues at PHS have taken the time to engage with colleagues and our members to understand the Third Sector and reflect these conversations in the latest Population Health Framework. Working collaboratively is not just a hope for us. We understand it is an opportunity and a necessity to collectively deliver the vision for the Population Health Framework and to create health for the long-term future of people in Scotland.”
