VHS and the Scottish Community Link Worker Network (SCLWN) are excited to announce the winners of our Inaugural Scottish Community Link Worker Network Awards 2025. These awards aim to shine a spotlight on Community Link Workers and the teams driving early intervention and prevention across Scotland.
The Awards presentation took place at the close of the SCLWN Conference on the 7th May at the Radisson Blu Hotel in central Glasgow.
Congratulations to the winners:
- Outstanding Community Link Worker of the Year - Dawn Craig, Carr Gomm
- Community Link Worker Team of the Year – Stirling & Clackmannanshire
About the winners:
Dawn Craig
Dawn joined Carr Gomm in Edinburgh in October 2023, bringing a wealth of experience. Her strength lies in working closely with patients, many of whom face severe health inequalities and financial hardship. She focuses on helping them meet basic needs while supporting long-term improvement. Dawn’s Lead GP, Catriona Morton, said “Dawn is an integral part of our practice team, empowering us to understand better how we can enable patients to move on from what are often debilitating and lifelong conditions, and early life trauma.”
Stirling & Clackmannanshire CLW Team
Working across two local authority areas, the close-knit team are united in their commitment to improving lives and sharing learning through regular forums. Their CLW programme runs in 8 GP practices, with referrals up 36% year on year. They’ve connected people to a staggering 198 organisations, linking people into community or specialised support and working with partners like Sunny Connections and Cruse Scotland.
Award finalists:
Outstanding Community Link Worker of the Year 2025:
- Sophie Carmichael, Pilton Community Health Project (Edinburgh CLW Network)
- Liam McGinlay, Sources of Support (Dundee)
