Festival of Politics 2024: Health Creators: Health Inequalities in Scotland
August 20 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Event Navigation
VHS and the Health Inequalities Cross Party Group are delighted to be hosting an event as part of the Festival of Politics in the Scottish Parliament in August.
Health inequalities mean that people who are living with social, economic, physical disadvantages are more likely to experience ill-health and to die earlier. Our event will bring a panel together to explore the right to health and the barriers to access health services and consequently exacerbate health inequities.
How do we make sure the most marginalised in society have fair health outcomes? How do we become Health Creators?
Panel Members:
Chair: Emma Harper MSP, Co-convenor, CPG on Health Inequalities
Tejesh Mistry, Chief Executive, Voluntary Health Scotland
Wendy Sinclair-Gieben, HM Chief Inspector of Prisons for Scotland
Maree Aldam, Chief Executive, Amma Birth Companions
Peter Kelly, Chief Executive, Poverty Alliance
