Work in partnership with Home Energy Scotland
At Home Energy Scotland, we offer free advice and support to help make homes warmer, reduce energy bills, and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. Funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Energy Saving Trust, our primary focus is on tackling fuel poverty and the climate emergency. We do this by giving people clear, free, and impartial advice on making their homes cheaper to heat, as well as reducing their carbon footprint.
Working together to reach those who need it most
We know that collaboration is key to creating lasting change. That is why we work closely with the NHS, Health and Social Care Partnerships, and third sector organisations throughout Scotland. These partnerships allow us to reach and support people who might otherwise struggle to keep their homes warm and comfortable.
Our partnerships team in the Strathclyde and Central advice centre plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining these partner relationships. Through a mix of outreach work and easy referral routes, like the secure online Home Energy Scotland Referral Portal, we make sure individuals can get the help they need quickly and easily. Our advisors go the distance to help customers to lower their energy bills and make their homes more comfortable which contributes to improved health and wellbeing and reduces domestic carbon emissions.

The portal allows organisations to make referrals into our service on behalf of their customers, and these referrals are made online, securely and in real time. Within Strathclyde and Central, our NHS Health and Social Care outreach activity is extensive throughout Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire and Forth Valley. Our outreach engagements not only benefit service users, but also NHS staff through our employee engagement programmes.
Energy advice outreach
Our skilled advisors are out in the community at hospitals, health centres, and local events to offer friendly, practical advice. Recently, our team has supported service users and staff at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, NHS Lanarkshire Hospitals at Monklands, Wishaw, and Hairmyres, and many others throughout the Strathclyde and Central area.
We also provide support on a regular basis at Stobhill Hospital Glasgow in partnership with the support and information services onsite. We work directly with both visitors and staff within the hospital and arrange for further advice centre assistance if required.
Supporting NHS staff and workplace wellbeing
We are proud to support NHS employees and regularly provide information advice stands and workshops to help them reduce their energy bills. These workshops, including topics such as saving energy at home, saving water, and exploring renewable technologies, are available both online and face-to-face. We regularly deliver workshops for NHS GGC Healthy Working Lives, who invite external organisations to attend the sessions. We will soon be supporting NHS staff wellbeing days in Paisley, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow.
Our advisors work with organisations as well as directly with households. Whether you’re looking to make your community more sustainable or are part of an organisation helping people struggling with their bills, we would like to work with you.
