June 12 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Event Navigation
The Scottish Community Link Worker Network invites you to join us with Age Scotland at this workshop on the 12th of June online via Zoom.
Many older people in Scotland aren’t claiming the benefits that they are entitled to, even though the additional income could make a big difference to their daily lives. Age Scotland’s benefit workshops aim to raise awareness of the financial support that is available to older people, with advice about how and when to apply, and what to do if someone is unhappy with a benefit decision.
Heather Pentler, who is a Benefits Trainer with Age Scotland will be running Age Scotland’s ‘Unlocking your Entitlements’ workshop for community link workers from the Scottish Community Link Worker Network. The workshop aims to raise awareness of the common benefits that support older people, including Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction. Heather will cover the main rules, how to make a claim and what to do if something goes wrong.
