Event Navigation
A free, online event focused on the Scottish Government’s consultation on ‘Renewing Scotland’s Full Potential in a Digital World‘ which is seeking views on a new digital strategy for Scotland that will reflect the changing digital world in which we live and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
For health charities and the wider third sector the role of our digital world has become an increasingly live issue this year. From the onset of the pandemic digital platforms, apps and techniques designed to support people’s health and wellbeing were rapidly developed or extended, with innovation mushrooming across the public, third and private sectors. This has benefitted and enabled many people to maintain their health and wellbeing, but has disadvantaged those who face financial, technological or personal barriers to digital inclusion or who have little or no digital literacy. Our move during the pandemic towards digital as the default solution to health, education, work, shopping and leisure has undoubtedly widened inequalities for some. The move to digital health also raises questions of patient choice and safety.
Chair: Claire Stevens, Chief Executive, Voluntary Health Scotland
Speaker: Christina Stokes, Strategy and Communications Team Leader, Digital Directorate, Scottish Government
