This in-person meeting of the Health Policy Officers Network (HPON) we’ll discuss the results of the 2026 election , including the implications for health policy and the role of the third sector.
The 2026 election is widely predicted to cause a seismic shift in Scottish politics, with many current MSPs standing down and new political parties rising in popularity. There are a number of political priorities likely to straddle the election, including the Assisted Dying Bill and the Human Rights Bill as well as commitments made in 2025 to public service reform and a shift to prevention in health.
This meeting provides a chance to analyse the implications of the results and to explore joint opportunities for ensuring that health is at the top of the agenda for new and returning MSPs and Ministers.
