DESCRIPTION:**This event is for Programme Leads and Community Link Workers in primary care settings in Scotland.** \nJoin VOCAL’s Think Carer training\, designed to support Community Link Workers across Scotland to confidently identify and support unpaid carers in your day-to-day role. \nMany people you work with may be providing care for a family member\, partner\, or friend\, often without recognising themselves as a carer. This interactive online session will help you recognise the signs of caring\, understand the impact it can have\, and take practical steps to offer meaningful support. \nYou’ll explore: \n\nHow to identify unpaid carers within your caseload\nThe impact of caring responsibilities on health\, wellbeing\, and daily life\nCarers’ rights under the Carers (Scotland) Act 2016\nHow timely support can make a positive difference\n\nImportantly\, the session will also equip you with knowledge of resources and clear pathways for signposting to carer support services across Scotland\, ensuring you can connect people to the right help\, wherever they are based. \nWhether you’re new to working with carers or looking to strengthen your practice\, this training will build your confidence to take a proactive\, carer-inclusive approach. \nMore information and book your place here.

SUMMARY:SCLWN Workshop: Working alongside Gypsy/Traveller Communities
DESCRIPTION:SCLWN Workshop: Working alongside Gypsy/Traveller communities: Opportunities and Tensions for CLWs \nThis session will be centred on how we build trust with Gypsy/Traveller communities\, recognising what meaningful health support should look like when Antigypsyism shapes so many encounters. \nDrawing on Progress in Dialogue’s recent work on the conditions of safety in help-seeking\, mental health\, and trauma-informed care\, our session will provide a safe space for dialogue and questions. Together we will explore why intersectionality\, Antigypsyism and ‘missingness’ matter in healthcare and to the role of a CLW. The session will draw from lived experience and good practice to create an environment where CLW’s can engage meaningfully with the topic\, being empowered to bring the knowledge back to their own settings and practice. \nJoin Progress in Dialogue to explore working meaningfully with one of Scotland’s least understood and most marginalised communities. \nAbout Progress in Dialogue \nWe are a grassroots organisation working to improve the lives of marginalised communities across Scotland. We believe those with lived experience should lead in discussions of their own needs\, so we amplify voices rather than speak for them.  Find out more about our work  \nFind out more and book your place.
