SUMMARY:Public Health Scotland Consultation: Third Sector Sounding Board
DESCRIPTION:VHS is hosting an afternoon Sounding Board so that third sector organisations can find out more about Public Health Scotland and the Scottish Government consultation\, ask questions and share their views. At the Sounding Board we will hear from Robert Girvan and Mark McAllister from the Scottish Government Public Health Reform Team. \nPublic Health Scotland will be Scotland’s lead national agency for improving and protecting health and wellbeing and will drive forward Scotland’s six national public health priorities . The new agency is a key plank in the public health reform programme\, and will launch on 1st April 2020. \nPublic Health Scotland’s role is to support and enable the “wider public health system”\, and that is why this is an important development for those of us working or volunteering in the third sector and communities. Its success will be judged not just in terms of how well people’s health improves\, but also in how it works collaboratively with partners\, including ourselves\, communities and the wider system. \nPlaces are limited and we advise early booking. It is free to attend. \nBook your place here.
