SUMMARY:Gender and Health Research: Consultation Event
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to invite you to participate in a new VHS social research project exploring the relationship between gender and health. This will be the first in a series of research projects looking at different social determinants of health. \nThe research will explore the relationship between health and gender identity\, with a particular focus on health inequalities related to gender. It will also explore how gendered experiences of health intersect with other forms of identity\, including sexuality\, race\, ethnicity\, age\, income and caring status. \nWe acknowledge that the word ‘gender’ has different meanings and connotations for different people\, and we hope to sensitively reflect this reality in our research. We are keen to hear about health experiences which are impacted by gender\, assigned at birth or otherwise. \nThis project will primarily draw on evidence generated by our member organisations\, whilst also referencing a range of national health data sets and relevant academic research. We’d like to hear from any of our member organisations who believe that they\, or the people/communities they serve\, have useful insights into the relationship between gender and health. We are keen to hear from any member organisation\, not just those that provide services aimed at particular gender groups. \nThese workshops provide an opportunity for you to hear about our research project\, and to share your insights and evidence related to gender and health. \nSign up here!

SUMMARY:Insight to Impact: Third Sector Data as a Catalyst for Change - VHS AGM Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we showcase third sector organisations as a unique and under-utilised source of health data at our AGM event. \nVHS members generate an incredible amount of evidence and insight into the causes and possible solutions for addressing health inequalities in Scotland. They provide unique and innovative analysis of national health datasets\, gather impact data about what creates health\, as well as undertaking important qualitative and quantitative research. Despite this\, evidence from the third sector is often undervalued by Scottish decision-makers. \nThis event will shine a spotlight on the rich data and insight generated by our members. We’ll also explore how third sector data could be better used by decision-makers\, including policy makers\, funders and politicians\, to bring about lasting change. \nThis event will include a short AGM meeting with the opportunity to briefly hear about Voluntary Health Scotland’s achievements in 2024-2025. VHS members will have the opportunity to participate in voting for new Board Members and special resolutions. \nRegister to attend! \nThe AGM Papers\nAGM Agenda\nDraft Minutes VHS AGM Nov 2024\nProxy Vote Form\nNominations for Board of Directors and Voting process\nSpecial Resolution\nVHS 2024 – 2025 Annual Report and Accounts
