SUMMARY:Audit Scotland and General Practice in Scotland
DESCRIPTION:Join VHS and Audit Scotland at our online event to explore the recent report which focuses on Primary Care pressures and impact for health inequalities and third sector partners. \nThe report highlights that a Scottish Government agreement with GPs to improve general practice has failed to deliver on several of its commitments. The 2018 General Medical Service (GMS) contract aimed to address the financial pressures and growing workloads facing GPs\, and to improve patients’ access to care. However\, seven years on: \n\nthe estimated number of whole-time equivalent GPs has fallen\npressure on general practice has increased\nproposals to support GP teams with more nurses\, physiotherapists and other specialists have moved more slowly than planned\nand people report finding it more difficult to access care.\n\nAudit Scotland will present on the key messages and recommendations from the general practice performance audit\, and an outline of findings relating to inequalities.
